Our Appointment System

At Ling House Medical Centre we aim to provide our patients with rapid access to professional medical advice. To achieve this, we offer : -
- pre-bookable appointments - bookable via SystmOnline or over the phone;-
- on the day face to face or telephone appointments with a GP or Advanced Clinical Practioner;-
- access for queries, health advice, sick notes and medication by using the PATCHS link on our homepage.
Please telephone the surgery on 01535 605747 from 8.30am to book an appointment. The Receptionist will ask for a description of your problem to ensure that you are booked with the right clinician.
If you have a medication query, or are due a medication review please book an appointment with our pharmacist.
Nurse, blood test appointments and Health Care Assistant Appointments can be booked using SystmOnline, by phoning us or at the reception desk.
Receptionists
When you ring us the receptionist will try to help you but they may need to ask a few questions to sort out the best way to do so. Please do not blame the receptionists if the doctor is running late for your appointment or if they are unable to offer you just what you want. Even if you are feeling stressed please do not take it out on the receptionist.
Pharmacy Service
You can now go directly to a Pharmacist for support with:
- Medication reviews/re-authorisations
- Acute prescription requests
- Medication queries
- Liaising with all local pharmacies
- In-house medicines advice

Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you can not make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time. You can cancel or change your appointment:
If you need help when we are closed
- Use NHS 111 online (111.nhs.uk) or call 111. 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
- Out of hours information
- If it’s a life-threatening emergency call 999.
