Welcome to Ling House Medical Centre

Ling House Medical Centre and North Street Surgery Merger

We would like to inform our patients of some changes which are happening at the surgery from the 1st December 2021.

North Street surgery which is our neighbouring practice (0.2 miles) has been run by Affinity Care on a short-term contract which runs out of the 30th November.

Ling House has been requested to take over the patients of North Street from the 1st December, something which we have agreed to do. This means that from this date North Street surgery will become a branch surgery of Ling House Medical Centre.

GP services will continue to run from both sites. We are in the process of recruiting clinical staff incluing GPs to help with the additional patients and have been successful in this already. Staff at North Street (including GPs and Nurses) will now become part of the Ling House team so there will be some new faces going forward.

You may be asked to attend either North Street or Ling House for your GP or nurse appointments. We do not think this will be an issue for our patients as the two surgeries are very close together and both has parking facilities. However, if you have a mobility issue, the Ling House site will be better suited for your needs.

We are planning to update our telephone system so that there is one direct number for the surgery. Until this is done, patients will be able to ring both Ling House or North Street to book their appointments from the 1st December 2021. Please click here for a press release released by Bradford and Craven CCG on this matter.

NHS Patients, staff and visitors must continue to wear face coverings in healthcare settings

As most of you are aware many of the remaining COVID restrictions in England are due to be lifted from Monday 19th July 2021. However this easing of restrictions DOES NOT apply to healthcare settings.

Our number one priority is the safety of our patients and staff. Therefore we still require you to:

  • Wear a face covering in our practice
  • Attend alone where possible
  • Confirm that you don't have any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Continue to follow social distancing measures

Our telephone trige system will remain in place.

Patients requesting an appointment will be managed remotely (online, phone, video), and will be seen face to face if there is a clinical need to do so. Patients will continue to be seen by staff in full Personal protective Equipment (PPE). For further information please click here.

FLU CLINICS

Flu jabs will be available from September onwards. Please ring reception or check the News section for flu clinic times. For more information on the Flu vaccine please click here.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

For Appointments

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic the NHS has asked GPs to run a TOTAL TRIAGE appointment system until further notice. This is important to reduce avoidable footfall in the practices and protect patients and staff from the risks of infection.

All patients requesting an appointment will be managed remotely (online, phone, video). Patients will be seen face to face only in exceptional circumstances. Any patients visiting the surgery must wear a face covering to protect patients and staff.

Please ring the surgery at 8.30am to arrange an appointment. You can also submit an e-Consult. Should you wish to arrange a telephone appointment please click on the 'Book an Appointment' tab at the top of our website to see availability. Alternatively you can call reception who can book a telephone appointment for you or signpost you to the most appropriate service.

Medication

If you are on regular medication, now would be the time to commence online ordering and nominate a local pharmacy to receive your prescription.  Please telephone reception and they will activate this facility for you.  Alternatively you can hand deliver your prescription request by placing it in the post-box at the front door of the practice or send it through the post to us.

Due to the current increase in demand, please allow four working days for prescription requests to be processed. Thank you.

eConsult, want advice from your doctor, self-help information or have an administrative request (such as a sicknote or test results)? eConsult and get a response before the end of the next working day or sooner
